No, I don't personally recommend selling your home "by owner". It's not because of the obvious reason (I don't get paid) It's because there are so many facets of selling your home. How can you possibly be prepared for many of the problems that arise? Where will you turn? Although some sales are simple and uncomplicated, I've heard of too many times when problems during a sale have cost a homeowner thousands of dollars. If you don't want a realtor, I strongly recommend you hire a real estate attorney.
